The Intel Core i7-13700E is an embedded processor with sixteen cores and twenty four threads, built on Intel's 13th generation Core architecture, codenamed Raptor Lake. It is a hybrid design: eight performance cores running from 1.90 GHz to 5.10 GHz under Turbo Boost, plus eight efficient cores from 1.30 GHz to 3.90 GHz, backed by 30 MB of Intel Smart Cache within a 65 W base power envelope. It installs in an FCLGA1700 socket, takes either DDR5 or DDR4, and supports ECC memory. As an embedded SKU it is offered on Intel's extended availability terms, which is what makes it suitable for designs that have to stay buildable for years.

Compatibility and integration considerations

This processor uses the FCLGA1700 socket, so it shares no platform with the FCLGA1151 and FCLGA1200 parts elsewhere in this family and cannot be dropped into an older board. Sixteen cores split evenly between performance and efficient types, with a 1.90 GHz performance core base clock inside 65 W, so sustained all core throughput sits far below the 5.10 GHz headline. Intel Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 is not enabled on this part, which is why the overall max turbo and the performance core max turbo are the same 5.10 GHz. Memory is dual channel, either DDR5 at up to 5600 MT/s or DDR4 at up to 3200 MT/s, with a 128 GB ceiling, and the DDR5 speed is a step up from the 12th generation part. ECC is supported subject to chipset and board support. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 770 requires display outputs on the board. Intel publishes only a Processor Base Power figure for the embedded SKUs and no Maximum Turbo Power, so there is no official peak power number to size a supply or a VRM against. Typical use cases

This processor suits demanding edge and industrial workloads that benefit from both fast single thread response and wide parallel throughput, such as real time vision pipelines, industrial servers and consolidated control and analytics on one machine. Against the 12th generation i7 in the same envelope it adds four cores, four threads, 5 MB of cache and faster DDR5.
