The Intel Core i5-14501TE is a lower power embedded processor with six performance cores and twelve threads, built on Intel's 14th generation Core architecture, codenamed Raptor Lake. It has no efficient cores, so every core is a performance core, running from 2.20 GHz to 5.10 GHz under Turbo Boost, backed by 24 MB of Intel Smart Cache within a 45 W base power envelope. It installs in an FCLGA1700 socket, takes either DDR5 or DDR4 up to 192 GB, and supports ECC memory. As an embedded SKU it is offered on Intel's extended availability terms, which is what makes it suitable for designs that have to stay buildable for years.

Compatibility and integration considerations

This processor uses the FCLGA1700 socket, so it shares no platform with the FCLGA1151 and FCLGA1200 parts elsewhere in this family and cannot be dropped into an older board. This is the lower power half of a pair, and the TE suffix here means 45 W rather than the 35 W it meant on the 9th generation parts, so a design sized around a 35 W embedded part does not automatically accommodate it. Against the 65 W i5-14501E it keeps the same six performance cores, twelve threads, 24 MB of Smart Cache and 192 GB memory ceiling, and gives up base clock, 2.20 GHz against 3.30 GHz, and 0.10 GHz of turbo. There are no efficient cores. ECC is supported subject to chipset and board support. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 770 requires display outputs on the board. Intel publishes only a Processor Base Power figure for the embedded SKUs and no Maximum Turbo Power, so there is no official peak power number to size a supply or a VRM against. Typical use cases

This processor suits thermally constrained designs that still want fast individual cores, such as compact control cabinets, medical instruments and fanless panel PCs. It is the part to specify when a design was validated on the i5-14501E but the enclosure cannot carry 65 W, since everything except clock and power is identical between the two.
